A Three Step System That Works
We use our proprietary, proven three-step system A³, or activation, action and assessment to help students master the skills they need to solve problems on their own and advance beyond their peers.
Activation
We activate learning by drawing on student’s interests to make the content relevant and meaningful to the students. We have found that students learn best when the topic is of interest to them and when a purpose is set for their learning.
Action
We take action by modeling the steps to solve problems. We use metacognition to teach students the reasoning/thinking behind each problem in order to increase learner retention. We gradually introduce more challenging content as students build confidence so they can experience a new level of success each time.
Assessment
We assess our students before, during and after each lesson so students are able to witness and track their own growth in real time. Assessment is used as a learning tool to discover what students have mastered and what students still need help with to effectively plan for future instruction and increase mastery of skills over time.
